Here are some tips to keep yourself safe online and prevent cybercrime:

• Install anti-virus software on your devices and set up regular scans
• Regularly back up data on your personal computer, phone or tablet to the cloud or to external hard drives
• Use strong unique passwords and don’t share them
• Set up multi-factor authentication for your accounts to provide extra security
• Only download files and apps from websites you trust
• Don’t click on links in messages or emails if you don’t know the sender or the message is unexpected
• Keep your operating system and applications up to date as hackers may target weaknesses in older versions
