Older people and adults with disabilities can be at greater risk of financial abuse, especially by someone they know and trust. This can include:
- Stealing money
- Unauthorised, improper or unlawful use of funds
- Pressure to make withdrawals
- Forcing changes to legal documents such as a will
- Denying access to personal funds, forging signatures or misusing Power of Attorney
