The Australian Federal Police (AFP)-led Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) and the eSafety Commissioner (eSafety) have developed resources to help families have important conversations about online safety. The resources have been tested with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and have been translated into various languages.
These resources include an advice sheet for parents and carers, and conversation cards to get families talking. Having open and honest conversations can help families feel empowered to tackle potential online harms. The advice sheet and conversation cards can help parents and carers understand online child sexual exploitation, have conversations with their child about their online interests, handling uncomfortable or unsafe situations as well as getting help and reporting abuse.
