Sharing the road with motorcyclists

Motorcyclists are recognised as vulnerable road users – they don’t have the same protection as a car in a collision.

Drivers should pay extra attention when sharing the road with motorcyclists:

✅  Check for motorcyclists in your mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes

✅  Indicate earlier than you normally would as motorcyclists can accelerate quickly and may be approaching faster than appears

✅  Ensure your high beam light setting is turned off when approaching motorcycles.
